Favorite MFM/RLL drive was a Mitsubishi MR-535. 5.25" half height, 60MB RLL/40MB MFM, voice coil actuator, very quiet, and reliable as heck. my 1 TB harddrive which had all my data on was reporting on 33 MB and coming up as RAW in Windows. I took it back to Frys to have them replace under my extended warranty. get redirected here
USB mass storage is not going to be supported since it simply does not allow the protocol that we are using to access the hard drive. Thank you so much for freely distributing this siftware. WHile the drive was recognized I promptly used Seagates DiscWizard and set it up for a 10GB and 150GB partition NTFS. Now was the time to do the final load on the other disc setting the BIOS to AHCI the other options on the board are IDE and RAID I think my If this doesn't work, you can try going to the manufacturer's website and get the breakdown of Sectors, Cylinders, etc and manually input the figures.

i literally spent hours trying to recover my hard drive. Hard Drive Not Showing Up In Bios Never disconnects spontaneously or anything like that. The problem started as soon as I installed the 160GB SATA HDD replacing my 2 PATA drives (30GB Maxtor, 40GB Maxtor). This might be a motherboard problem, but it might also be a power supply problem.

i still don't understand why it still does that. I strongly recommend to re-power your computer before running this tool. As a last resort, you can try either manually typing in the cylinders, sectores, etc instead of having the BIOS auto detect it. The system has been rock stable for over a year with 2 PATA HDDs.

Managed to reset disc first by zeroing it with WD utility followed by old Maxtor utility used this method twice unfortunately on the third attempt it failed to work whether I This needs fixing before any machine will recognised the drive. Bottom line for a WD SATA drive. So if you're a guest at my house you can jump on the internet &check your e-mail, etc. Because this pin 11 is reserved for future use by SATA specifications, many SATA power cable manifacturers leave this pin going nowhere instead of grounding it (because it is not supposed from the guest bedroom :) I have spent a few $$ to add monitors, etc. (I've been given several CRT's -- but generally toss those &buy an LCD instead).
Hitachi's Feature tool was crashing when trying to enter Capacity menu, but this little great tool restored disk back to useable state and data is safe! but once I powered down the machine for a while, powered back on and again same problem.
